NGUMU Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
NGUMU: Screen Time Control is a productivity extension that provides focus timers, website blocking, fullscreen break reminders, tab management, invite codes, and paid access management.
Information the extension handles
- Local license identifier: a randomly generated license key used to check trial, paid, AppSumo, and invite-code access.
- Email address: only if you enter it for Polar checkout or to restore paid access.
- Payment and redemption data: selected plan, Polar checkout status, AppSumo redemption code status, and invite/referral reward status. Payment card details are handled by Polar or AppSumo, not by NGUMU.
- Website and tab data: active tab titles, favicons, URLs/domains, tab groups, and user-created website filters, used only for tab management and website blocking features.
- Productivity data: timer settings, focus sessions, local analytics, trial reminders, review prompt preferences, and extension settings.
How information is used
We use this information to provide NGUMU's user-facing features: focus timers, tab management, website blocking, fullscreen breaks, trial access, paid access, AppSumo redemption, invite code rewards, and local productivity analytics.
Storage and sharing
Most productivity settings and analytics are stored locally in Chrome extension storage. License keys, optional checkout email, payment entitlement status, AppSumo code redemption status, and invite code reward status are sent to the NGUMU Convex backend over HTTPS so access can be verified across sessions.
NGUMU does not sell user data and does not use user data for advertising, retargeting, or profiling.
Third-party services
- Convex: stores license, trial, AppSumo redemption, and invite-code entitlement records.
- Polar: processes checkout and subscription/lifetime purchase status for web/extension purchases.
- AppSumo: provides AppSumo deal redemption codes for lifetime access.
Permissions
NGUMU requests Chrome permissions for storage, tabs, tab groups, bookmarks, windows, display information, and access to the NGUMU Convex backend. These permissions are used to provide the extension's disclosed productivity, blocking, overlay, tab management, and entitlement features.
Data retention and deletion
Local extension data can be cleared by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage. Backend license, payment entitlement, AppSumo redemption, and invite-code records may be retained to prevent duplicate code redemption, restore purchases, operate subscriptions, prevent abuse, and provide support.
